I've been having one of those months where everything feels off. Nothing seems as bright or funny or enjoyable. And then today I realized that this time last year was just about the lowest point of my life. Obviously there is some lingering sadness and despair. Oh and then there's that feeling when someone says they want to move in together - and then changes their mind. And what really tops that off is being told that in addition to not moving in together they would also like to spend less time together. Oh thanks!

The 30 Day Shred
I've been hearing so much about Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred that I finally ordered myself a copy. I am so excited I almost wish I had paid extra for the overnight shipping.

At times I feel myself sinking into a deep pit of despair -- typically pushed there be someone or something. I know the right things to do are to be social and run and avoid sad music (and the couch). However, I typically find myself wanting to do all of the wrong things like curl up into a ball in the corner of my couch, listen to city and colour and lead an all around reclusive life.
Off to do something wrong.
Off to do something wrong.

calendar of my events:
May 30 - Oak Apple Run 10 K
July 12 - Muddy Buddy
August 22 - CRIM 10 Mile
October 4 - Brooksie Way Half-Marathon
October 18 - Detroit Free Press Half-Marathon
I am running most of these races with a group of girls I'll be training with this summer. Sort of a work-place running group if you will. I'm excited about training and about the races themselves, however; I cringed inwardly as I added the Detroit half. A total step down from last year's full.
As Carrie said today, You ran a half marathon? Oh, that's cute.
